Zobocopy is my little music project I’ve released most of my music under for as long as I’ve done so. The name derives from my IT days, in which I was creating a UI Frontend for a program called “Robocopy” (no relation to Robomuffin) and a friend of mine said “You should call it “Zobocopy”, so I’ve always used that is It just stuck with me.
I’ve made music for over 20 years just as something id done because I love and enjoy it. It has also allowed me to work with different areas of technology I wouldn’t have really considered if I hadn’t been so interested in the advancements of what has been occurring with technology and music, as well as technology as a whole.
I love all forms of music from all over the world, but you may see in my creations the stuff that resonates most with me.
My music pre the Vocal stuff, was all done as instrumentals in my small home studio. A lot of different equipment was used there and there’s a lot of evolution in the process and sounds as time has gone by.
Once AI hit the scene, I started transitioning more in that direction given I could take an idea right away, and make it into a fully flushed out song, with as music or little structure or pieces already created. If it’s a beat idea with a hook, I can start working through the lyrics and further song details way faster than the old way with AI. It’s not a Press one button thing how I use it. It’s a lot of tinkering and reworking lyrics and ideas, that I wouldn’t have come up with so easily in the past without a lot of setup and sessions artists involved in the process. AI has made creating music and expressing oneself infinitely easier in such a short time. If you’re a singer, you now have a whole band and production. If you’re a producer, you now have every kind of session musician and singer available. Do you just have a beat? Now you have a hook. That kind of thing with a little know how, that doesn’t take long to get up to speed. Seriously, if you are working through a tough time, or trying to make sense of things within yourself, and music is your form of expression, this KILLS. It’s insane the epiphanies you can device from your own words, or reworks of your ideas and melodies with a little help from AI.
I know a lot of people really don’t like how AI is changing things, but this always happens. I’ve seen cell phones, the internet, Streaming, MP3s, ect all do this in my life, and this is just the fastest and most multifunctional advancement we’ve seen in our age. So again, it’s understood fully, I mean how are we all supposed to deal with how its slowly taking over the human elements around us. Regardless, if I had any advice to anyone who is worried about AI stealing their craft, I would say, Learn to use it in harmony with what you do. Don’t lean on it as if it were a limb, but learn how it can be useful to make the parts of your craft that aren’t directly related to your exact talents, and harness them to make things easier. If you think that’s cheating, then how are you reading this? And I’m sure you’ve never used amazon, the internet, taken an uber, ect. I do not believe in any shape that AI makes art or the seasoned artist any less valuable in any scope. I think it makes the ability to perform your craft with your own hands even more valuable, and desirable. If anything, AI music makes “Song Writing” easier, and if I was a band or performer not especially gifted in that area, it REALLY can help you find your message and put direction into what your trying to create. Do you have just a sung verse on your phone out of nowhere? Totally can use it as is and start kneading the dough and magic that song. It takes away the barrier of seeing an idea through in many scopes. Regardless, it’s just my opinion, but don’t just look at what’s happening in Media and culture from one dimension. See how it can help, as at the end of the day, it’s a tool with vast capabilities that only become stronger with each day.
My music has very often been a way for me to work through things, or just clear my mind from all the noise. A bit of reverence in a noisy reality, with an ever thumping heart that can be hard to escape at time. I pull most of the newer stuff from life, ancient journals and stories from my life, and faith here and there. As I educate myself in things, and experience life, and have my own epiphanies, music becomes a byproduct of that. Not initially for the ears of others, but in the end, I share it to those who wish to hear it, or at least make it easily available to those who wish to hear it. Regardless, it always changes, as the seasons change in life, and I will continue to make as music as I can in my life when I am inspired, and hope it can in some way be there for someone else who should happen to need to hear a message a certain way at a certain time.
My music is available on most if not all Streaming Music Services, and all of the released stuff is also available on SoundCloud, as well as a lot of the older or unreleased stuff. Soundcloud still feels like the easiest and most accessible way to share and find music, and I’ll continue to use it until there’s a better alternative. I’m Suprises no one is really competed here, at least no one I’ve heard of or have found in recent research. You could literally create almost the exact same thing, but make it slightly better, more modern, and cheaper and just let it sit and do its thing and pay for itself.
Thanks for listening, and enjoy the music. If you wish to get a hold of me for some reason, You can use the form on this site, or hit me up in my DMs somewhere.
